
Herbert Stoffels is the founder and chief executive of Stoffels Kommunikation.Herbert Stoffels studied German Language and Literature, Economics and English Language and Literature at Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg and at Ulster University in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.
He began his career in 1993 as a journalist for the German-language edition of the US business magazine Forbes. Further stations in his journalistic career were the news magazine Focus and Markt und Mittelstand (= market and small to medium-sized enterprises), the magazine for company owners published by what is now the Burda Yukom Verlag publishing house. For Markt und Mittelstand he led the Taxes and Finances department. In addition, he took over responsibility for several customer magazines, for example FondsMagazin, the funds magazine published by the central investment fund group for the savings banks, DekaBank.
In 1999 Herbert Stoffels switched to PR, moving to Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s largest network agencies. In the role of Managing Director at their Munich offices, he initially built up their investor relations services for the German market. In the autumn of 2003 he moved within Weber Shandwick to Hamburg, leading a team of up to 35 employees at the company’s office there. In addition to being Managing Director for Hamburg, Herbert Stoffels had nationwide responsibility for financial communication and corporate communication, as well as crisis communication.
